Psalm 97

Psalm 97 Prayer Points

O Lord, you are the Most-High God, exalted far above all gods, so that all who boast in worthless idols are put to shame. For the heavens daily proclaim your righteousness, and all the peoples can see your glory. O Lord, you reign over all the earth. May the peoples rejoice in your works and may the farthest coastlands be glad and sing for joy to the God of our salvation. You are holy, O Lord. Clouds and thick darkness surround you; righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Fire goes before you and burns up all your adversaries. When your lightnings light up the sky, the earth sees and trembles. When the mountains melt like wax before you, all the earth stands in fear and awe. We rejoice in your judgments, O God. We delight in the wisdom of your holy laws and are glad that you hate evil and calling upon us to join you in that holy hatred. For you have delivered us from wickedness, sowing light into our souls, and joy into our hearts. We rejoice at your works O Lord, and give thanks to your holy name!
