Psalm 56

Psalm 56 Prayer Points

Adoration: Praise God for his trustworthy and praiseworthy Word that he has spoken to us (vv. 4, 10). Praise God for his sovereign power over all men and women.

Confession: Confess the times that you have fallen into the sins of distrust and despair and have not placed your hope in God (vv. 3, 4, 11). Confess your evil intentions and thoughts that you’ve had, even though you may have never acted on them (v. 5). Confess the times you’ve said you would do something for God but failed to do it (v. 12).

Thanksgiving: Thank God for the times that he has comforted you and given you peace in hard or sad times (v. 8). Thank God for the answered prayers that you have seen in your life (v. 13).

Supplication: Ask for the ability, strength, and diligence to live a holy life of service and obedience to God (v. 12). Ask for God to save you from your enemies and other trials (vv. 1, 7, 9). Ask for protection against false accusations and unnecessary strife (v. 6). Above all, ask for help trusting him rather than being afraid, no matter how the situation turns out (vv. 3, 4, 11).
