Psalm 42 Prayer Points

Prayer for the Downcast: Our Father, in the midst of our trials you sometimes seem so far away from us, and when facing opposition, even our enemies may say at times “Where is your God?” But you are the living God, our salvation, and we have placed our hope in your name alone. When we are cast down it is you who raises our weary heads, and when we are in turmoil, it is you who fills our hearts with a peace that passes all understanding. Therefore, help us to remember you O Lord in these difficult times, to remember how your steadfast love has commanded us each morning and of how your song of love has been sung over us each night. As we meditate upon these truths may you once again fill our hearts with confidence in your holy will that we might trust you and seek you like the deer who pants after flowing streams of water knowing that you alone can assuage our thirst. O Lord, you are our rock and the only solid ground upon which we stand, so we pray to the God of our lives and ask that you would restore our faith in Christ our Savior.
