Matthew 25 Prayer Points
Pastor Lawrence Bowlin
Prayer of Adoration: O Lord God, you are a good and loving master entrusting your servants with many talents to serve in your glorious kingdom. You are also the Great Shepherd of the Sheep who knows us by name and causes us to lie down in green pastures. And you are the glorious bridegroom who continually rejoices over his bride. We exalt you and magnify your holy name this day.
Prayer of Confession: Lord, forgive us for thinking that you are a hard master rather than gentle and lowly in heart. Forgive us for thinking that you, our shepherd, have abandoned us, when you have watched over us and guided us all the days of our lives. Forgive us for questioning your compassion as our bridegroom when you have laid down your life for us and have loved us with an everlasting love. And forgive us for not loving our brothers which show us just how little we love you. Merciful God, we have believed in lies, challenged your authority, strayed from your fold and gone off in search of other lovers. Lord Jesus have mercy upon us, your servants, your sheep and your bride.
Prayer of Sanctification: O Holy Spirit, help us this day to use the talents we’ve been entrusted with to advance Christ’s kingdom, not to be selfish and lazy but prosperous in spiritual matters. May each of us here on the day of reckoning, “Well done my good and faithful servant; you have been faithful with a little, I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” Indeed, make us watchful and ready for the day of Christ’s arrival, so that we would be like the wise virgins who entered into the joy of the wedding feast. And Lord, fill our hearts with love for our brothers that flows out of our love for you
