Matthew 17

Matthew 17
Pastor Lawrence

Prayer of Adoration: We praise you, O Christ, that you are greater than Moses and greater than Elijah, for you are God’s beloved Son, the sinless one who always pleases our heavenly Father. Jesus, you are brighter than the brightest sun in the heavens, majestic in holiness and resplendent in glory. You are the very Word of God to whom we are all commanded to listen, as well as the wisdom of God through whom we understand all things. You are the suffering servant and the Lamb of God that Isaiah saw in his visions and the Son of Man and the Prince of Princes that Daniel saw in his dreams. You are the resurrection and the life so that whoever would believe in you, though he die, yet shall he live. Hallelujah, salvation belongs to our God and to the Lamb. Blessings and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.

Prayer of Confession: O Lord, we are part of a faithless and twisted generation, not only as natural members of this earthly kingdom but even as redeemed citizens of heaven, our faith is still so small that so many things seem impossible to us. Forgive us today for our doubts and help our unbelief. Likewise, Father, our words and our works are still so twisted and perverted by our own sin and evil desire. Please cleanse us of these impurities and purge us of the dross that we might be vessels for honorable use in your kingdom. Our Father, we are no longer slaves to sin but sons and daughters of God, please forgive us for using our freedom as an opportunity for the flesh. Instead, Lord, teach us through love to serve you and to serve one another, for your name’s sake, we pray.
