Mark 9 Prayer Points
Lord Jesus, you are full of compassion and power to help your people in time of need. You faithfully pray for us as our great high priest and continue to speak to us through the power of your spirit. May we never doubt your compassion and sympathy for us, nor your power to help those who believe in you. O Lord, we believe, help us in our unbelief. Let us not be like that faithless generation that continually grieved your spirit. For you are greater than Moses and greater than Elijah. You are God’s beloved son; may we listen intently to your words this day. And as you came to this earth to serve rather than to be served, so may we see ourselves as servants of Christ, not seeking to be the greatest or the first, but rather the last and servant of all. Give us a love for all our brothers and sisters in Christ to receive them as you have received them, knowing that he who is not against us is for us. And may we never cause one of your little ones who believe in you to sin but rather look to our reward as we seek to be a blessing and to love the brothers. O Lord, our hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked, protect us from falling into sin and falling away from you. Whatever it is in our lives that leads us to sin, give us the strength and resolve to cut it off and to tear it out that we would not be pulled in by the powers of hell. Our savior, preserve within us that salt and light that you first gave to us when you opened our eyes to your kingdom. May we ever taste and enjoy an increase of your power and peace as long as we live.
