Mark 8 Prayer Points
Our Father, we are in awe of your son who showed such compassion to the crowds of people, who displayed great wisdom and patience before his enemies and who suffered and died for our sins. We thank you for opening our eyes to see his glory, to perceive his greatness, and to acknowledge that he is the Christ, the Son of the living God. O Lord, may our hearts never be hardened against him or seek to put him to the test. May we never seek to rebuke him, but gladly receive his rebukes, learning from him who is gentle and lowly of heart. And may we follow him to the ends of the earth, for we have heard the heavenly call to come after him, and to take up our cross, even losing our own lives for his sake that we might gain them in return. O Lord, humble us that we might be more watchful against sin and its evil influence in our lives. Teach us your wisdom that we might set our minds on the things of God rather than the things of men. And give us more boldness to live for you, gladly confessing the name of Christ before this adulterous and sinful generation.
