Jeremiah 5

Jeremiah 5 Prayer Points

O Lord, we pray this morning for the United States of America, for our transgressions are many and our apostasies are great. We have forsaken your holy commands and acted treacherously against your crown and covenant. We are a foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but do not see, and ears, but do not hear. We are a country that does not fear and tremble before you, but one that continues to walk in the stubbornness and rebellion of our hearts. We know no bounds in deeds of evil; sin multiplies in our land, and the people love to have it so. Many have spoken falsely of you, even mocking you, assuming that you will do nothing. But surely you hear them, O Lord, and remember. We are surprised that your judgment has not already stricken them and consumed all the fruit and wealth of our land because of our many iniquities. But your eyes are looking for men who act justly and who seek the truth that you might pardon us. Surely, you see the distress and anguish of your holy people because of the evil conduct of our neighbors. And your eyes run to and fro throughout the land to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward you. O Lord, have mercy upon us and help us. Do not make a full end to us, for your people long for your holy correction and cry out for a spirit of repentance upon our land. We want to know the way of the Lord and the justice of our God. In our hearts, we fear you, O Lord, who has made us, provided for us, and protected us all these years. Our lives are in your hands.
