Jeremiah 4 Prayer Points

O God, you are the righteous king and judge of all the earth, and your day of reckoning draws near. For you have already spoken your word of judgment upon the world and you will not change your mind. You have purposed, and you will not relent. Woe to the wicked, for the lion is coming to devour the lawless throughout the land. Because of your fierce and holy anger, you will not turn back. The winnowing fork is already in your hand to clear your threshing floor, to gather the wheat into your barns and to burn the chaff with unquenchable fire. Woe to us, O Lord, who have walked in darkness, for the kingdom of darkness will surely be destroyed along with all its members. O Lord, having ears to hear the trumpet blast, we confess and repent of our sins. For we hate the wickedness that has lodged within our thoughts and the many transgressions that we have committed in word and deed. The bitterness of our sin has reached our very hearts, causing us to grow cold to your love and grace. O Lord, we are stupid children with no understanding. We are wise to do evil and slow to do good. We are a foolish people who do not know you as we should. O God, our Redeemer, wash our hearts again that we might be free from the evil one and eagerly remove all the detestable things from your sight. For you have called us to break up the fallow ground in our hearts, and to remove the foreskin of our hearts, but we can’t do that without the help of your Spirit. Please, pour out your Spirit upon us, we pray, in Jesus name.
