Jeremiah 3 Prayer Points

Our Father, we have sinned against you from our youth, even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God. We have been like faithless children, and like a treacherous wife who has played the whore many times with many lovers; doing all the evil we could. You should have written a decree of divorce a long time ago because of our faithlessness, yet you hold out your arms to us and say, “Return, O faithless one, I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful.” And we long to return to you, but we are ashamed. Even if we return, do we return to you with all our hearts? O Lord, our flesh is so weak and our hearts are so stubborn. We freely acknowledge our guilt and our rebellion in not obeying your voice, but we do not trust ourselves to make it right. Have mercy upon us and heal us of our faithlessness and perversions. Help us to trust in you and to remember your ways. O Lord God, we come to you humbly, responding to your plea to return, for you alone are our hope and salvation. You alone have loved us and kept us all the days of our lives.
