Isaiah 60 Prayer Points
O Lord, our Savior and Redeemer, at times it seems as if darkness has covered the earth, especially in places where your church, once thriving, is now forsaken, and your people, once many, are now few and hated.
But you have promised, O God, our Everlasting Light, to shine upon us and glorify your church, to make her majestic forever, a joy from age to age. So may your light come, and may the glory of the Lord rise upon us and be seen in us, that Christ might be known and your people might shine like the stars in the midst of this dark world. May the nations come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising. May the peoples gather as sons and daughters into your Holy Church, and may the wealth of nations be brought in to beautify your sanctuary and glorify your name. May the good news abound in their hearts and a new song flow forth from their lips.
Even now, our hearts exult in the promise of your coming kingdom. May the coastlands put their hope in you, and may foreigners build up your walls and kings bow down at your feet. May the gates of Zion be open continually, that the whole world might bring forth their sacrifice of praise.
Then, violence and destruction will no longer be heard in the land, for the walls of Zion will be called Salvation and its gates Praise. Then there will be no more killing, no more dying and mourning, no more wickedness or injustice in the land, for all evil will be uprooted, and all its citizens will be righteous, pure, and good. Right now, your people are few, but one day they shall be a mighty nation that covers the earth.
O Lord, hasten the day of your coming, hasten the day of Christ.
