Isaiah 58 Prayer Points

Gracious Lord, please show us our transgressions and reveal to us our sins that the bonds of wickedness might be loosed from our wrists and the straps of heavy yokes removed from our necks. Free us, O Lord, from all slavery to sin. Give us eager hearts, O God, that long to draw near to you, that embrace your righteous judgments and delight to walk in your ways. By your Spirit, may we humble ourselves to seek your good pleasure and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Give us the peace of Christ to forbear with and to forgive our brothers. Give us the mercy of Christ to minister to those in need. Give us the encouragement of Christ that we might speak words of edification, and give us the love of Christ to pour ourselves out for others who bear the image of God. Show us the light of your glory in the face of Jesus Christ that we might reflect more and more his purity and love in our lives.

Lord, we offer our bodies to you this morning as living sacrifices. Make them holy and acceptable in your sight through the mediation of your son Jesus, so that when we call upon you, you might answer us, and when we attempt to do good, you might overlook our evil motives. Make us fruitful by your Spirit, we pray. Give us the waters of life and help us to build upon your sure foundation. Work through us to restore what is ruined, to repair what is breached and build up your kingdom wherever you have placed us.

Lord, teach us to delight in your name, in your ways, and in your Sabbath rest. May we delight ourselves in the Lord and by faith ride on the heights of the earth enjoying a foretaste of your eternal heritage in Christ Jesus. Amen.
