Isaiah 55 Prayer Points
Lord, you knew us when we were ignorant of your ways, and you sought us when we had no desire to seek you. You opened our hearts to receive your gospel and opened our mouths to call upon your holy name. We give you all the praise, O Holy One of Israel, for you are all-glorious and have caused us to share in your glory. You are Love and you have caused us to share in your love. We seek your face now that you can be found, and we call upon your name now that you are near. We forsake our evil ways and our wicked thoughts that we might know and enjoy all that is good.
Lord Jesus, we who are thirsty come to your holy waters, and we who are hungry come to buy and eat from your rich storehouses without money and without price. For we have spent too much on worthless things like fools, and we have labored long for that which can never satisfy our souls. O God, we long to eat what is good and to delight ourselves at your banqueting table. Give us the boldness to come into your house and to share in your riches. Give us ears to hear your words and the humility to incline our ears to your wisdom. Give us hearts to rest in your covenant love.
Lord, have compassion on us and abundantly pardon all our sins. Teach us the wisdom of heaven, for your thoughts are not our thoughts, and your ways are not like our ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are your ways higher than our ways and your thoughts than our thoughts. Let your holy Word descend from your lips to our hearts and may it not return to you empty, but produce much fruit in us. May you accomplish your holy purpose in us and cause us to successfully carry out your perfect will.
Lord, lead us in your peace, and fill our hearts with your joy, that we might sing forth your praise with our lives. Turn our briers and thorns into trees of life, that your name might be magnified in us and we might know that your hand is at work within us for your glory and our good. Amen.
