Isaiah 45

Isaiah 45 Prayer Points

Holy Lord, we come before you this morning, confessing you as our God and eager to receive your word. You are the one who created the earth, whose hand stretched out the heavens and commands all the hosts of them. You bring forth the rain from heaven and the fruit of the earth. You form light and create darkness; you bring well-being and create calamity. You are the Lord who does all these things. There is no other god besides you. You subdue nations and loosen the belts of kings. You open doors that no one can shut and close doors no one can open. You level the exalted places and plunder the treasures of the rich. You are the Holy One of Israel, our redeemer and Lord.

From your mouth, a word has gone out in righteousness that will not return void: to you every knee shall bow and every tongue shall swear allegiance. So we pray that the kings of the nations will bring their wealth into your kingdom, give themselves to you, bow down to you, and follow you. Let all the earth turn to you and be saved. Let all people from the rising of the sun to its setting know that there is none beside you.

We bow before you this morning, Lord, affirming that you did not speak to us in secret, nor did you call us to seek you in vain. You speak only the truth and declare what is right, the end from the beginning. We no longer want to strive with you, our maker, saying, “Why did you make me this way?” or accusing you of evil. Command us as you will and lead us in paths of righteousness for your name’s sake. You have saved us with an everlasting salvation. We shall not be put to shame or confounded for all eternity, for you have justified us and you will glorify us.
