Isaiah 40 Prayer Points
O Lord, you are the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. You measure the waters in the hollow of your hand and weigh the mountains in scales. Your understanding is unsearchable; no one can counsel you or teach you, for you know all things. To whom shall we liken you? You are like no other, you are the Holy One. All flesh is like grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
Sovereign Lord, you sit above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers in your sight. You bring princes to nothing and make the rulers of the earth as emptiness. Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket and are accounted as dust on the scales—less than nothing and emptiness before you.
You are the Mighty God. You bring out the starry host by number, calling them all by name; by your great might and strong power, not one is missing. You do not faint or grow weary, but you give power to the faint and strength to the weak, so that those who wait upon you might renew their strength.
Comfort your people, O Lord. Speak tenderly to us, assuring us that all our iniquities have been pardoned, since the Lord Jesus has received from your hand the full punishment for all our sins. Prepare, even now, the way for his return, lifting up every valley and making low every mountain, so that the glory of your Son might be revealed and all flesh might see it together. May He finally come with His great might, bringing His reward with Him, and may the Good Shepherd of the sheep gather His lambs in His arms.
