Isaiah 31 Prayer Points

Holy One of Israel, we confess our foolishness to you. Woe to us, who so often look to idols for help and rely on the strength of numbers, yet fail to look to you for direction or consult you in these matters. We have relied on the flesh instead of the spirit, and we are deserving of the disasters that our own plans have brought. We know that you are wise and do not call back your words, and that you will arise against evildoers and their helpers. Forgive us for turning to those who will assuredly stumble, and will cause us to fall along with them, if we do not repent of our ways. We turn to you now, O Lord, as our only hope, casting away the idols we have persistently pursued. Be our protector and deliverer. Please spare us and rescue us, for we know that you alone are our rock and shield, our sword and our defender. Let your holy fire burn against our sin and our idols, we pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
