Isaiah 24

Isaiah 24 Prayer Points

O God of Israel, the Righteous One. We long for the day in which you will empty the earth of all its wickedness, for we see how creation groans and languishes under the weight of human sin. It lies defiled by all its inhabitants, for everyone has transgressed your laws, violated your statutes, and broken your everlasting covenant. Now a curse devours the earth, and everyone suffers for their guilt. Though joyful songs are still sung and wine still gladdens the heart of man, the day will come when the windows of heaven are opened and the earth’s foundations will shake filling the hearts of the wicked with terror. On the day you will punish the host of heaven and the kings of the earth to bring forth your righteous kingdom. O Lord, prepare us for that day. Keep us watchful and sober as we look forward to the coming of your Son. On that great day all the peoples from the east and from the west and from the coastlands of the sea will lift up their voices with joy to our king, singing songs of praise to your holy majesty. Lord, hasten that day when your reign is fully established, when all creation will bow before you, and your glory will fill the earth. Until then, strengthen us in the faith and keep us that we might be among those who sing your praise, even amidst the turmoil, giving glory to the God of our salvation.
