Isaiah 17 Prayer Points
Lord of the Nations, the strong cities built by human hands stand in defiance of Your holy will, but they will become a desolation, a heap of ruins. We pray today for the dismantling of all the fortresses of evil in the world, that they may disappear and be no more, making way for the glorious day when the kingdoms of this world finally become the Kingdom of our God. Father, we long to see the promise fulfilled that a remnant from every nation will rise, sharing in the glory of the children of Israel. May that day hasten when all peoples will look to You, to their Maker, and their eyes will be fixed on the Holy One of Israel. We pray that their hearts will turn away from the altars of their own making, from the work of their hands and the creations of their own fingers, realizing the utter foolishness and futility of idols.
Forgive us, Lord, when we forget you, the God of our salvation, and fail to remember you as the unwavering Rock of our refuge. In times of thunderous turmoil, when the roar of many nations seems overwhelming, remind us of your sovereign will and eternal purpose. And teach us to trust you and to wait upon the Lord. Rebuke the chaos, we pray, that the forces of evil may flee far away, like chaff before the wind, leaving behind the stillness of your peace and the certainty of Christ’s rule over all the nations.
