Hosea 8 Prayer Points

Great God our Maker, we have transgressed your glorious covenant and rebelled against your holy throne regarding your statutes and laws as something strange. We have loved evil and spurned what is good. We’ve said that we know you, but our hearts have been far from you. We have made our plans but not through you; we have made our decisions but have not consulted you. We have made idols that have greatly angered you and that only lead to certain misery and death. And now we have reaped what we’ve sown and bitterly suffered the consequences, so that we cannot enjoy whatever good that we have received. We have become like useless vessels; like cheap lovers, and like those who go down to the pit. Because we have multiplied altars for sinning, they have become to us altars for sinning. O Lord, remember not our iniquities for the sake of your son. Forgive us of our great foolishness and our pride. Tear down all the idols of our hearts and every stronghold of iniquity that we might run to you as our high tower and be safe.
