Hosea 13 Prayer Points

O God, our Helper, why would we ever work against you? For you are the Lord our God. We know no God but you, and beside you there is no savior. It is you who have ransomed us from the power of Sheol and you who have delivered us from death. It is you who knew us and loved us having provided for all our needs. You blessed us and opened your good treasury to us causing our fountain to flourish. But when we prospered, we became full, and were filled, and our hearts were lifted up; therefore, we forgot you. And now, like foolish children, we have rebelled against the Lord our God and have borne our guilt. We have skillfully made idols for ourselves and have multiplied our sin. And as a result, our fountain has dried up and our treasury has been stripped of every precious thing. Now we are like the morning mist or the dew that goes early away. Now we are like the chaff that swirls from the threshing floor and like the smoke what wafts from the window. O Lord, why would we ever work against you? Why would ever choose to sin against the Lord our God and go our own way? Father, forgive us of our many sins and our stubborn stupidity, and show us once again the wonder of your ways, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
