Hosea 10 Prayer Points

Holy Lord, our hearts are fickle and false often limping between two opinions. We tremble before the gods of the earth as much as before the God who made heaven and earth. We ought to follow you, our Lord and Master, but we have often chased after dumb idols instead. Gracious God, we are deeply ashamed of our unfaithfulness, and we feel the full weight of our guilt. From the day of our salvation, we have been prone to wander. We have plowed iniquity and eaten the fruit of our own lies. Because we have insisted on going our own way, we have suffered much and lost even more. O Lord, be pleased to discipline us in love that we might be freed from our iniquity. Place your yoke upon us that we might find rest for our souls. Break down all our altars and destroy all the vain pillars that have led us astray. And may we not mourn our loss, but count it all as rubbish in order that we might gain Christ.
