Habakkuk 3 Prayer Points

O God of vengeance and of wrath, we fear your holy name, for you are the Lord over all the earth. And we continually look to you and wait for your holy justice to be carried out on earth. For we have heard reports of your mighty works of old and ask that you would renew them in our day. O God, your splendor covers the heavens, and the earth is full of your praise. Your brightness is like the light with rays flashing forth from your hand, and yet your power is veiled to us. Pestilence goes before you and plague follows at your heels. You thresh the nations in your anger and the world looks on in awe. Even the sun and the moon stand still before your great power and glory on the day of your visitation. O Lord, for the sake of your people, would you crush the head of the house of the wicked and pierce all his foot soldiers who continually afflict and persecute your people around the world. We quietly wait for the day of trouble to come and for the day of judgment to commence to vindicate the righteous on earth. But, O Lord, in your wrath, remember mercy, and take pity upon us who also are weak and sinful for we have trusted in your son Jesus our Passover Lamb. In the meantime, O God, no matter what we have lost and no matter how much we are called to suffer and to endure in this brief life, we rejoice in your name and take joy in the God of our salvation, for you are our strength and it is you alone who enables us to stand in the day of trouble.
