Exodus 31 Prayer Points
Lord of all Creation, we praise you for your wondrous works. You’ve made all things beautiful and good in their time as a reflection of your glory. And as you rested from your works to celebrate that which is good and glorious, so you have given us the joy of sharing with you in that rest and in your praise. Lord of the Sabbath, you are merciful to all your creatures, seeing our need and our weakness and desiring to give us refreshment and strength. Lord, teach us to rest in your works and to rest in your son Jesus whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light. Father, you have called us by name and filled us with your Holy Spirit, giving us knowledge and ability and spiritual gifts that we might become co-laborers with you in building up the kingdom of God on earth. It is you who works in us both the desire and the will to do good works. Lord, help us to do our work heartily for you this day for your name’s sake. Inspire us with your beauty and creativity that our works might point others to your works and show forth your glory. Lord Jesus, you know our works and judge them according to your holy will, so give us the wisdom of heaven and pour out your love upon us that we might serve you with gladness and honor. May we never profane your works by our works, or profane your Sabbath by failing to acknowledge that your works are higher and better than ours. Lord, may we rejoice in our labor for that is our privileged lot under the sun. May it never be a vexation to us but a reminder that we share in the image and glory of God.
