Prayer of Adoration
O Lord, you are our strength, our song, and our salvation. You are our God, and we will praise you, our father’s God, and we will exalt you. Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power. In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrow your adversaries; you send out your fury; it consumes them like stubble. The enemy says “I will pursue, I will overtake, I will triumph, and I will destroy,” but in a moment, you stretch out your hand and cause the earth to swallow them whole. Terror and dread fall upon the wicked because of the greatness of your arm, and the peoples tremble before your almighty power. Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? You reign, O Lord, forever and ever. And in your steadfast love, you have redeemed for yourself a holy people, bringing us out of our bondage and leading us to your holy abode. You have guided us through the wilderness of this world turning even our most bitter circumstances into sweetness in our souls. And you have given us your Holy Word that is more costly than gold and sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. O Lord, be pleased to dwell with us this day as we walk in the holiness and the sweetness of your Word.
