Ephesians 5

Ephesians 5 Prayer Points

O Lord, our Redeemer, you have saved us according to your great mercy and called us to a holy calling that we might walk in the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Father, we long to imitate you as beloved children and to walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. So may we look carefully how we walk this day, not as unwise, but as wise, making the best us of time, because the days are evil. And may we renounce our foolish ways in order to understand your holy will. O Lord, fill us with your Spirit, we pray, that we might sing to you with joyful hearts, giving thanks in all circumstances and submitting to you and to one another out of reverence for Christ. So may each wife in the church submit to her own husband in everything as unto Christ, and may each husband love his wife as Christ loved the church and give himself up for her.

O God, may sexual immorality, impurity and covetousness not even be named among us, as is proper among saints, for it is shameful even to speak of such things knowing that everyone who practices these things has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ. Lord, help us to remember that it is because of these things that the wrath of God is coming. So may there be no filthiness, foolish talk, or crude joking among us, which are out of place, but by your Spirit may our mouths be opened in thanksgiving and praise. And may we refuse to become partners with the sons of disobedience, taking no part in their deceptive and empty words or their unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them by the light of your Word that we might learn to walk as children of light discerning what is pleasing to you, for our good and your glory.
