Ephesians 4

Ephesians 4 Prayer Points

Father, we thank you for calling us into the one hope that is in Christ Jesus, into the one faith, the one church and the one and only God who is over all and through all. May we walk today in a manner worthy of your calling with all humility, gentleness patience and peace. Using the gifts of grace that you have given to each of us, may we use your gifts to serve one another and to build up the body of Christ. Lord, we thank you that you have equipped all of your saints for the work of ministry, and for building up the body, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine.

Lord, help us to walk in the truth today and to speak the truth in love to our brothers that together we might grow up in the love of Christ. May none of us turn back in the futility of our minds to walk as the Gentiles do in sensuality and impurity. Rather, teach us to put off our old self which is corrupt and full of deceitful desires and to put on the new self, created in your likeness in true righteousness and holiness, being renewed in the spirit of our minds. Help us to speak the truth in love, that no corrupting talk would come out of our mouths but only such as is fitting and good for building up, that it may give grace to those who hear. In accordance with your commands, may we forsake all forms of slander, lying, stealing and sinful anger that we might not grieve your Holy Spirit by whom we are sealed for the day of redemption. Instead, may we be kind, tenderhearted, and quick to forgive, as you, O Lord, have forgiven us.
