Mark 7

Mark 7 Prayer Points

Our Lord, you do all things well! You make the deaf to hear and the mute to speak. You proclaim liberty to the captives, good news to the poor, and recovering of sight to the blind. Praise God that you set at liberty all who are oppressed.  And we come to you again this morning to hear the words of life that we might learn to live for you and to worship you rightly.  O God, we know how you despise the empty traditions of men, when we treat the teachings of men as commandments of God making void your holy Word.  Cleanse us of every false way and every seed of idolatry that harbors in our hearts. May we repent of all our hypocrisy, in how we honor you with our lips when our hearts are really far from you. For it is out of our hearts that come all kinds of evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, coveting, deceit, foolishness and idolatry.  O Christ, we acknowledge all of these things to you and are deeply ashamed of ourselves, of our sinful thoughts, words and deeds.  Lord Jesus, forgive us, cleanse us form this filth, and fill our hearts with a fiery zeal to worship you in holiness and truth by the power of your spirit and by the fullness of your grace, we pray.
