Hosea 14 Prayer Points

O Lord, why do your people turn to idols, when it is you alone who answers our prayers and looks after us so well? Why do we go seeking out other counsel when all of your ways are so good and right? Like transgressors, we have stumbled in our sin and gone the way of the fool. But we return to the Lord our God and we take words with us saying, “Take away all our iniquity; and accept the blood of Jesus your son.” We look not to the works of our own hands to save us, nor look to anything in this world to be a god unto us, for you alone are our God and savior. And you have promised to heal our apostasy, to turn away your anger from us and to love us freely because of the works of your Son. O Lord, forgive us all our transgressions and heal all our iniquities. Cause your blessing to fall upon us once again like the dew that causes the lily to blossom, and restore to us the beauty of righteousness that we might spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ all around us. Give us discernment to know your ways and wisdom to understand them. Cause us to bear good fruit that would be pleasing in your sight as we dwell once again beneath the shadow of your wings.
