Hosea 9 Prayer Points

Our Maker and our Husband, we are your unfaithful bride, for we have played the whore and forsaken the God of our salvation. We have loved a prostitute’s wages, for our hearts have turned back to Egypt. Rather than trusting the God of our redemption, we have looked to gods of our own creation. O Lord, our iniquity is great and our corruption is greater. Once we were like a young palm tree planted in a meadow, but now we are all dried up and stricken. Once you found good fruit on this tree which you have tended but now only sour grapes. We have consecrated ourselves in shame and have become detestable like the things that we have loved. Our glory has flown away from us like a bird. We ought to mourn over our condition, but our hearts are so weak because our sin. O Lord, do not depart from us! Do not hate us because of our evil deeds, but show mercy. Do not drive us from your house, or break your covenant of love with us, for the sake of your son, we pray.
