Exodus 19 Prayer Points
Great God our Heavenly Father, we stand in fearful awe of your holy throne, for clouds and thick darkness surround you. A blazing fire goes forth before you and you word is spoken out of the whirlwind. Your voice is like the sound of many waters and like the sound of a blaring trumpet so that even Moses your servant trembled with fear in your presence. Because you are perfect in holiness, if we were even to reach out our hands to touch you, we would surely perish because of our sin. And your righteous laws, though they are wise and good, would certainly condemn us because of our many transgressions. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
So, we thank you O Lord, that we have not come to Mt. Sinai, but to Mt. Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. O Lord, we have heard the demands of the law and what it requires to be your holy people. We are not qualified. And we have heard the threats of the law. We stand condemned. So, we look not to ourselves but to your faithful son Jesus to serve as our mediator and are federal head. O Lord, forgive us our sins by his blood, and receive us as sons and daughters because of his righteousness that we might be your treasured possession, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Father, consecrate us for your service this day that we might do all that you have spoken, and circumcise our hearts that we might love you and walk in your ways.
