Exodus 5 Prayer Points

Prayer of Adoration
Lord God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, you continually visit the earth and water it, providing grain for our daily bread, just as you provide for all our needs. Our help comes from you, O Lord, for you will not let our foot be moved; you who are our keeper will neither slumber nor sleep, for you always see our need and care for us in our miseries, continually bringing good out of evil. Our Father, we trust you, we look to you, and we submit to your sovereign will in all things. Holy is your name.

Prayer for the leaders of our nation
Lord, we pray for the leaders of our nation who do not know you, and who do not obey your voice, who see our worship as idleness, and our very persons as worthless in their worldly schemes. Father, overrule their evil ways with your holy light from heaven. We also pray that you would give them wisdom since they do not consider the future of our nation. For they continually print more money resulting in staggering inflation and causing us to make even more bricks to make ends meet. Lord, they are not only stealing from us but from our grandchildren as well, enslaving future generations to debt. Father, rebuke them, and raise up men and women of integrity who can put this house in order.

Prayer for wisdom for God’s people
We pray also for wisdom for ourselves, especially when we are afflicted for seemingly no reason and when we are judged by this world for doing good. Help us to remember that you are the true judge of all the earth. Lord, give us wisdom also when you tarry, for though we believe your promises, we often expect them to be fulfilled immediately, and complain against you when they are not or when all things do not go as we expect. Father, forgive us for accusing you of evil in allowing difficult times in our lives, of questioning your Word, and for acting against your holy character in the midst of our disappointment. Lord, we still don’t understand your way of suffering or the way of the cross. We still don’t know what it means to forsake all in order to follow you. Lord, give us more of your wisdom from heaven, we pray, in Christ’s name.
