1 Peter 5 Prayer Points

Prayer for the Elders
We pray that the elders would shepherd the flock of God that entrusted to them, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have them, not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in their charge, but being examples to the flock so that when the chief Shepherd appears, they might receive the unfading crown of glory.

Prayer for Church Members
We pray that your people would be subject to their elders, with each of us clothing ourselves with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” May we humble ourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time you may exalt us. Because you care for us, may we cast all our anxieties on you, remaining sober-minded and watchful since our adversary the devil continually prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
O Lord, may we resist him, standing firm in our faith and in the grace of God, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by our brothers and sisters throughout the world. And after we have suffered a little while, may you restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish us in the faith. To you O Lord belong the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
