2 Corinthians 4 Prayer Points
O God, you are the fountain of life, and it is your light that we see light. Because we are prone to darkness, we ask that you would shine your light into our hearts again this morning giving us the knowledge of your glory in the face of Jesus Christ. With unveiled faces, may we stand and rest in your presence communing with our Lord and Redeemer, and may you fill us with the power of your Spirit sanctifying and invigorating us that we might speak of your mercy to others, proclaiming not ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your servants. O Lord, you have put such a rich and glorious treasure in us who are mere jars of clay demonstrating again and again that the surpassing power belongs to you and not to us, so we plead for more of your love and more of your power to carry out your holy will and to serve you well on earth.
O God, our Sustainer, help us not to lose heart as we undergo afflictions and our natural bodies waste away, for we know that these light and momentary afflictions are preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the transient things that are seen but to the eternal things that are unseen. And even though our bodies are slowly wasting away, you have promised us that our souls will slowly be renewed in like manner. So, whether we face adversity or prosperity in the coming days, Lord, help us to always carry in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in us. We take your yoke upon us again this morning to follow you, for you alone have the words of life.
