Isaiah 48

Isaiah 48 Prayer Points

Lord of hosts, you are the first and the last. Your hand laid the foundation of the earth, and your right hand spread out the heavens. Ancient of Days, you have declared from of old the former things to us, revealing your mighty works and your wondrous deeds, and in them we rejoice. You also have announced to us new things, hidden things that we have not known, and in them we trust. O God, we delight in your Word and we treasure your glorious deeds.

O Holy One of Israel, you are our Redeemer, for you saved us from ourselves and from your holy wrath. You have called us by your name and we confess that you alone are our God. O Lord, we look to you, we rely upon you, and we trust in you.

Our Glorious Sovereign, from before our birth we were rebels against your kingdom, being conceived in sin and born in iniquity. Surely, we were treacherous from the beginning. But for the sake of your name, you showed us mercy. For the sake of your praise, you gave us grace. For the sake of your Son, you have assured us of your pardon and love.

O Holy Spirit, open our ears to hear your voice and to pay attention to your commands. Draw near to us that we might draw near to you. May we not act like obstinate fools with stiff necks. May we not be too proud to admit our sins, or too afraid to recognize our own shameful ways, but help us to confess our sins and give you the glory. O God, destroy all our worthless idols and show us their utter futility that we might walk in your light and love. As you bring us through the furnace of affliction, teach us your ways. Refine us, O God, that we might not profane your name by our impurities.

Blessed Lord, you have prospered us and you have taught us what is profitable, leading us in your way of peace and righteousness. May we never again turn to the left or the right of the path you have laid out for us. May we never again turn to broken cisterns that can hold no water, but find the waters of life in your glorious son, Jesus.

Lord, bless us and bless our offspring with the blessings of Christ. Give them a double portion of your Spirit that they might thrive in your grace and glory. May your name never be cut off from our house and family. For where else could we go? You alone have the words of eternal life.
