2 Corinthians 1 Prayer Points
Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, you have indeed comforted us by the promises of the gospel, by establishing us in the church of Christ, and by sealing us with your Holy Spirit as a guarantee of our salvation. No matter the severity of our afflictions or the abundance of our sufferings in Christ, we know that we likewise will share in the fullness of your comfort not only for our sake but for the sake of brothers, that we might comfort them with the comforts we have received from heaven. O Lord, at times we experience affliction that is beyond our strength, so teach us through these afflictions not to rely upon ourselves but upon the God who raises the dead. For it is you who delivers us from all peril and death, and it is on your name that we set our hope for future deliverance. Father, help us not to despise our sufferings but to humble ourselves in allowing others to pray for us in our weakness so that many will give thanks for the blessings granted to us through their prayers. Likewise, remind us to pray for others and to work with them for our common joy in the Lord that we might all learn to stand firm together in our faith in Christ Jesus.
