1 Timothy 4 Prayer Points

Prayer for Pastors and Elders: Father, we know that in these latter days some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to silly myths and the teachings of demons through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, so we pray for our pastors that they would devote themselves to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, and to teaching, not only putting these things before the brothers, but practicing these things themselves that all might see their progress. May they and their fellow elders keep a close watch on themselves and on the teaching, persisting in this in order that they might save themselves and their hearers. May no one in the church despise their authority, but may we all follow their example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Prayer for the Saints: Lord, having been trained in the words of faith and good doctrine, may we continue to train ourselves for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. To this end may toil and strive with all our strength because we have set our hope on the living God our Savior.
