1 Timothy 2 Prayer Points
Prayer of Adoration:
Father, you alone are God and Jesus your son is the only mediator between God and men, so we lift up our prayers and supplications to you this day through the name of Jesus, who has paid our ransom and granted us access to your holy throne.
Prayer for the Church:
Lord, we pray for the men in our church today that they would devote themselves to your kingdom and service, that they would lift holy hands to you in prayer and be freed of unrighteous anger and foolish quarreling in order to love their wives and children, and to love their neighbors as themselves. Likewise, Father, we pray that the women in our church would be known for their modesty, respect and self-control, not focusing primarily on their outward adornment but rather upon good works dedicated to your service. Let them submit to their husbands in faith, love and self-control demonstrating the holiness of the Lord in order that their families and the surrounding community might see evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
Prayer for the Nation:
O God, we give you thanks for our nation’s long-standing constitution and for the Bill of Rights intended to safeguard our freedoms in this land. And we you give thanks for the law and order that exists within our cities and our states, that we do not live as in the days of Noah when there was no government and there was no punishment for evil deeds. But we pray for the leaders of our nation today and for all who are in high positions that they might continue to safeguard our freedoms and to protect the weak from the strong that we might lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. Lord, we also pray that you would convict our leaders of sin, of righteousness and of the judgment to come that many of them might be saved and that the rest might conduct their affairs in the fear of the Lord.
