Tyrone’s Christmas Gift to the Community
Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of the year. For many, it is a season steeped in tradition and ritual; from the way we open the gifts under the tree to what family members cook what foods for Christmas dinner! One of those traditions which have been established by many families both locally and statewide is attending Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian’s annual Jesus Walk. Please join us Saturday, December 17th & Sunday, December 18th from 5:00-8:00 pm and journey with us through the live production of the true meaning of why we celebrate this season: from the prophecy of God’s promise of sending a savior for his people, through the events leading up to that glorious birth…the birth of God’s own son. If this is a tradition which you already look forward to each year, we welcome you back! If this is your first time in attendance, we pray that for you this would be a year of new tradition: of families celebrating together the birth of our Lord!
Jesus Walk Highlights from 2016
After the 20 minute walk is concluded, our guests are invited inside for homemade refreshments (coffee, hot chocolate, punch, cookies, finger foods, popcorn, etc…). Musical performances take place inside each evening.
This is our gift to the community. It is our joy to share the good news of the Gospel and the events that led up to the birth of Jesus Christ with those who attend each year. The Jesus Walk begins at 5:00 pm and closes at 8:00 pm both nights of the event.
COED Softball Slow Pitch!
2016 Fenton / Linden Church Co-ed Softball League
2016 Softball Wrap-up
Our 2016 Co-ed Softball season was completed this past Tuesday. We finished our season in 10th place with 4 wins & 6 losses and 1 tie (Yes! Ties can happen when it gets too dark). We also had to give up the Most Christ Like trophy to Fenton Church of Nazarene, but the Most Christ Like award was a tough competition this year. I am glad to see other churches earning it too! We will just have to get it back again next year.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank all the players for all their hard work and commitment this year. I also want to thank the family members who helped support the team this season by making sure we had our players at the games, cheering for our team, and also keeping score! Thank you everyone, I hope you had fun!
See you next year!
Games were played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings June/July with practices beginning in May. Contact the church office or Tim Edgar for more information regarding next years team.

Upward Basketball is locally sponsored by Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, Fenton United Methodist Church & Linden Free Methodist Church
Upward basketball is a huge undertaking with over 500 players and it takes many people to make it happen. If you would like to be a part of this awesome ministry please contact Marta Shaw for Tyrone volunteers or Deb Rogers for FUMC volunteers. Areas that you can get involved are:
|Evaluations||There are 4 evaluation nights. Needs include setup/cleanup, uniform sizing, registrations, hall monitors, and child evaluations.|
|Coaches||If you are interested in coaching your child’s team, please indicate your commitment on the registration form. If you are interested in coaching any team.|
|Referees||Referees will be for Saturday games. Normally two referees per game. Includes controlling the game and helping the children to learn the game.|
|Scorekeepers||Games are only 1 hour long. Consider keeping score for your child’s game. Best seat in the house!|
|Concessions||Help our program by working the concessions table. You don’t have to do it all day. Only when you can.|
|Prayer Partners||This program needs prayer. Consider praying for us.|
|Devotions||3-5 minutes long during halftime of each game hour. Everyone has a testimony or something to share to affect the heart of a child.|
|Hall Monitors||Keeping people moving and in the right place ensures a smooth program. We always need help here.|
